HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF MY FOLLOWERS !

To leave the old with a burst of song

To recall the right and forgive the wrong;

To forget the thing that binds you fast

To the vain regrets of the year that's past;

To have the strength to let go your hold

Of the not worthwhile of the days grown old,

To dare to go forth with a purpose true,

To the unknown task of the year that's new;

To help your brother along the road

To do his work and lift his load;

To add your gift to the world's good cheer,

Is to have and to give a Happy New Year.

Hand Made Journal

This is an examle of how this trim is used.  Makes a creative Journal

Pour Vous

I mixed blue & green dye along with a little water, drops of blue and green dye, also added a little vinegar for the color to set.  I then soaked a strip of natural muslin (torn in a 2 yard strip) in the solution  for a few minutes. I usually hang my strips outside to dry.  Then hand stamped with a rubber stamp "Pour Vous" which is French translated to english "For You"

This trim is available for purchase
in my ETSY store.

Winter in the Methow Valley

We haven't much snow this time of year. Not like it was in years past.  I am used to several feet of snow so it will insulate this cold country.  I do hope you enjoy some of my photos of my place and surrounding area.

This fabulous Vintage Doll is my latest find!  I am  so excited to come across her. She definately needs a new hair do . . . but I don't plan to change anything about her.  I don't know a great deal about dolls but I do know that she is quite old.  She is stuffed with straw and wool or cotton fiber. I will be getting her apraised and ready to go to her new home in my Etsy store in the next few days.

Her head is bisque or composition and her eyes are glass.

Notice the sweet little dimple in her chin.

 A bisque or porcelain is a doll made partially or wholly out of bisque
porcelain. Bisque dolls are characterized by their realistic, skin-like matte finish. They were very popular between 1860 and 1900 with French and German dolls. Bisque dolls are collectible, and antique dolls can be worth thousands of US dollars. Antique German and French bisque dolls from the 19th century were often made as children's playthings, but contemporary bisque dolls are predominantly made directly for the collectors market.
